Update about
the ICP
Youth Program
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِيكُمۡ نَارً۬ا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ عَلَيۡہَا
مَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ۬ شِدَادٌ۬ لَّا يَعۡصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ (٦)
[66:6] O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from the Hellfire whose fuel is people and rocks. Guarding it are stern and powerful angels who never disobey GOD; they do whatever they are commanded to do.
The ICP has received complaints from angry parents describing horrible issues going on with their children. Many of these parents are accusing the ICP, specifically the youth program at the ICP, of gross negligence in caring for their children. Unfortunately, these parents are blaming the ICP Youth Program for all these consequences. They indicated they trust the ICP and this is why they send their kids to ICP Youth programs. However, they are unaware that their kids do not come to the official ICP Youth programs, and instead go to the other arbitrary programs, which have not been sanctioned by the ICP.
Thus, the ICP publicly informs all the parents in the Muslim Community at large, that we at the ICP have only one Youth Program and we are NOT responsible for any other youth activities in or out of town.
Moreover, parents are strongly encouraged to find out exactly where their children are going and feel free to contact the ICP for confirmation anytime in the future. Information about the ICP activities will be available on the ICP website http://www.icp-pgh.org/ under "this week's announcements", the ICP bulletin board and are also sent weekly to all mailing lists. The current and only Youth Program sanctioned by the ICP coordinators are Imam Abdusemih Tadese (icp.imam1@gmail.com), Imam Atef Hamed (a_mahgoub_2000@yahoo.com), and Sr. Naglaa Soliman (nassol69@yahoo.com) as assigned board member. In the near future we plan to hold an educational activity for parents, regarding the upbringing and Islamic education of their children.
