Board and Policies

ICP is run by an elected Board of Directors, who hold all the responsibilities of the institution. The Board of Directors appoints an Executive Committee (E.C.) who runs the day-to-day affairs of the masjid. The E.C. consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Above all bodies, the members of ICP have ultimate control and can execute that power in accordance with the bylaws.

Staff

Staff are paid employees who handle various aspects of the daily operations at ICP

  • Operations Director: Shahid Madni

    Director of ICP, manages day-to-day activities of ICP in accordance with E.C. and Board.

  • Religious Director/Youth Coordinator/Imam: Atef Mahgoub

    Leads congregation and conducts ICP-related religious activities. Leads Jumah and Eid prayers and gives khutbahs at the ICP. Publishes and issues religious articles in various forms of media. Conducts activities on Tafsirul Quran, Hadith, Sirah, Fiqh. The Religious Director is the mufti of the ICP. Makes recommendations for implementation of religious activities. Leads the daily prayers at the masjid. Leads Taraweeh prayers. Provides funeral services and guidance. Provides matrimonial and divorce counseling and services. Provides other forms of counseling and guidance as needed. Teaches Qur’anic studies, Tajwid, Tafsir, Hadith, Sirah, Fiqh, and other Halaqas. Gives classes, such as the tarbiyah class, and organizes programs for the youth as the youth coordinator. Represents the ICP as a guest lecturer at other mosques and events. Works with interfaith organizations

  • Office Manager: Khadijah El-Gamal

    Responsible for organizing and managing office, financial, and business affairs, including donations, reminder letters, emails, phone calls, website design and management, bulletin boards, Friday cook manager, assistant to the weekend school and Summer Program, Group coordinator of the Food Program.

  • Finance Manager: Angel Arafat

    Responsible for organizing and managing financialand business affairs, including donations, reminder letters, emails, phone calls, website design and management, bulletin boards.

  • Full-Time Custodian: Walaa Mohamed

    Responsible for the cleaning and set up of the upstairs and downstairs of the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh for all functions and events and day-to-day activities including Friday Prayers and Sunday School.
