Regular Educational Activities from the Imam

PLEASE NOTE, DURING ANY RAMADAN HOLIDAY SEASON, ALL REGULAR PROGRAMS WILL BE SUSPENDED.

For all programs, attendance is free and open. While I consider the weekly khutbah to be the wakeup call to the heart, it is the weekly lessons which I give in a less formal manner, but more robust in content, where I aim to stimulate the mind and direct you to which actions are best to truly live by our faith in every sphere of our lives.

Did you know? There are currently — as of July 2023 — only three full-time imams for all of Western Pennsylvania! Imam Chris is extremely busy due to this, and most regular lessons are on hiatus for this reason. Imam Chris will occasionally give lessons on fiqh of Sunnah and tafseer. Check the website calendar on Thursdays and Saturdays for any projected programs of that day.

Muslim Reboot class

The “Muslim reboot class” is a year long course, meeting once a week on Sunday afternoons, going through a variety of topics from Islamic faith, worship and living, and the history of Islam from the life of the Prophet Muhammad to the present day. It is a “fard ayn” (necessary knowledge) course. The instructor assumes you know nothing, but that you will leave with an understanding propelling you beyond most others. Hence, this class is especially popular with new Muslims, and even for non-Muslims curious to learn what it is like to be a Muslim, as well as “old Muslims” who wish to relearn their roots without cultural influences.

From the calendar, you will be able to see the event, click on it, and see the zoom link to join it.
